Ice Hockey Championship to boost winter tourism in Baltistan

ISLAMABAD: Skardu hosted the opening ceremony of Baltistan Ice Hockey Championship 2022 where Canadian High Commissioner Wendy Gilmour and other diplomatic staff also participated.

A large number of local ice-hockey lovers and supporters attended the ice-hockey event that was held at Helma Ringa amid the mightiest mountains.

Four teams participated in the event whose organizers are hopeful that these shorts of sport events will highlight the climate change cause from Pakistan. The organizers aimed to boost winter tourism with ice-hockey like events.

Canadian High Commissioner Wendy Gilmour said the ice-hockey championship will boost winter- tourism in Pakistan.

On the occasion, Mahnoor, hailing from Hopar Nagar got an award for her best performance as the youngest athlete in National Ice Sports Competitions 2022.
