IEA asks ICRC to cooperate in transferring bodies

KABUL (Agencies): The country’s Foreign Ministry, in statement asked the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) to cooperate in searching and transporting the bodies of those Afghans who recently drowned in Italian waters.
Sharing condolences to the families of a number of Afghans who lost their lives in the wreck ship at the coast of Italy, the country’s Foreign Ministry for asked cooperation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, in searching and transporting the bodies of Afghans.
“We regretfully learned that nearly eighty Afghan nationals, including women and children, who were traveling by sea from Turkey to Italy in a wooden boat, have died as a result of their boat sinking. The Islamic Emirate prays for forgiveness for the martyrs and patience for their families and relatives, added to the statement.
The country’s Foreign Ministry once again asks all Afghans citizens to refrain from traveling to other countries through illegal migration routes.
The Foreign Ministry asks the charitable organizations, mainly the ICRC, to search and transport the bodies of Afghans who drowned in the southern waters of Italy, out of humanitarian obligation, to fulfill their responsibility.
