IEA committed to all Islamic rights of its people: Haqqani

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Interior Minister Serajuddin Haqqani has renewed the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA) commitment to men and women education in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Friday. During a meeting with Ulema delegation from the United Arab Emirate (UAE) Haqqani acknowledged that Islam made seeking education compulsory on men and women and the IEA was committed to grant all rights of its people in the framework of Islamic Sharia Law.
On its Twitter handle, the MoI said that visiting UAE delegation on Friday met Interior Minister Serajuddin Haqqani and discussed political, economic and security matters. It added both sides discussed the expansion of relationship between Kabul and Dubai.
Haqqani thanked UAE for handing over the Dubai Consulate General to the IEA and added establishment of ties with Afghanistan was in the interest of neighbouring countries. The MoI quoted Haqqani as saying that Afghanistan was a strategic area and the world should refrain from maintain a double policy with Kabul.
“Those want to isolate Afghanistan were wrong because Afghanistan has owner and we will not allow that our country is ignored again,” he said.
Umar Jabtour Al Dare, head of the visiting UAE delegation, said: “For durable relationships there are some issues including the women and girls education and work that we are looking forward for its resolution.”
The delegation assured interior minister of full cooperation in different areas and termed support to Afghanistan as their moral responsibility.
UAE delegation arrived in Kabul on Thursday evening and held meetings with different government officials.
