If other institutions can strengthen themselves why can’t parliament: Bilawal

F.P. Report

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Saturday that if other institutions can strengthen themselves why can’t the parliament.

Speaking in Karachi Press Club, the PPP leader said that the 18th amendment and democracy is under attack from all corners.

“We won’t let anything happen to the 18th amendment, we can even go for a long match to protect it,” he said.

Bilawal said that the country needs to fight for the right to freedom of expression; we can use parliamentary and judicial forums for it.

The PPP leader said that how can the government, which can even tolerate Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif’s speech, can run the government?

“Only the elected representatives should have the right to make decisions for the future of the country,” he said.

The PPP leader said that the PTI claimed to have as many as 200 talented people in its cadres, he called it a blatant lie.

“Special facilities were provided to Aunty Aleema in the new budget. They should rather use the parliamentary forum rather than retorting to verbal abuses,” he said.
