MINGORA: The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Muhammad Naeem Khan today kicked off his visit of Swat by chairing a crime meeting attended by high ranking officers of Malakand Region at police lines Swat. Earlier on arrival to Swat police lines a smart contingent of police jawans presented guard of honour to the IGP.
Regional Police Officer Malakand Muhammad SaeedWazir with the help of different slides presented a detailed briefing about law and order situation in the region. After the briefing the IGP issued necessary instructions to the participants of the meeting for further tightening the noose around the neck of out laws. Later on the IGP also addressed a police Darbar of police officers and jawans at Woodedia Hall Swat.
All ranking officers and jawans of different units/wings of Swat police largely participated in the Darbar. Addressing the participants of the Darbar the IGP appreciated the performance of Malakand Region police for providing fool proof security and facilitating the tourists during the Eid-ul-Fitar. The IGP said that tourists thronged to scenic Swat valley in large number which was an ample proof of peace and security in the region.
The IGP directed the participants of the Darbar to adopt decent behaviour with the general public and get their important support and help for eliminating crimes. The IGP pointed out that behaviour of the police especially performing duties as Muharrar in police stations, traffic officials and police check post should be correct and exemplary in every respect.
The IGP also directed senior police officers to keep close liaison with the general public and their subordinates and solve their confronting problems and difficulties on priority basis. The IGP assured that seniority issue of Malakand Region police would be solved as per law and made it clear that no one would be deprived of their due rights. In the police Darbar a large number of police officers and jawans presented their individual as well as collective problems. The IGP after giving them patient hearing issued order for solution of some of their problems on the spot while on the rest reports were demanded from the concerned quarters for its earlier solution.
Later on while talking to Swat media men the IGP said that coming of the tourists in record number to scenri swat valley was a clear manifestation peace and tranquillity in the region. To a question, the IGP said that both press and police are inseparable added that press, public and police played a pivotal role for promoting tourism in the region. To another question, the IGP informed that approval of 25th amendment was the long standing demand of the people of the Newly Merged Districts and hoped that all confronting problems of the NMD would be solved with the passage of time in an effective manner. To a question about regularization of the Special Police Officer (SPOs) the IGP disclosed that this issue had been taken off with the provincial govt and hoped that it would be resolved as per attached expectations.
