IGP urges masses to stay home

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Sanaullah Abassi has urged the people to follow the instructions of government and health experts to defeat coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic as it is the only way to save your loved ones and humanity.

IGP Dr Sanaullah Abassi in his special message for the awareness campaign started by The Frontier Post said that we need to stay united against coronavirus pandemic as it is creating havoc in the world and the developed countries are also facing problems as they take it lightly and not responded when it was needed.

He added that it is the responsibility of every individual to follow and act upon the instructions by the government and also aware and educate those who are unaware about the spreading of the Covide-19 epidemic.

Regarding the police force, IGP assured that the police force are fighting against the pandemic along side by side with the health department by putting their lives in danger to protects the lives of the citizens.

Police chief mentioned that two police officials including a Superintendent of Police (SP), Waqar Kharal were also tested positive for coronavirus, who was supervising security in a lock down village (Managha) in Mardan, where a first death occurred due to coronavirus .

He added that  Station House Officer (SHO), Mohsin Fawad has also been tested positive for coronvirus, while performing his duty in the same village of Mardan, both officials have been in quarantined.

In his message, IGP added that heavy contingents of police have been deployed in the different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the aim to make sure the implementation of lockdown to ensure the safety of citizens and urging the people to cooperate with the force as it is in the interest of every individual of this country.

He also urged the well off of society to financially assist the poor segment of the society as they were badly affected and were facing difficulties of getting daily bread for their children because of lockdown across the province.

Dr. Sanaullah Abassi further said that all types of resources would be utilized to eliminate the Covid-19 pandemic from the society.

“The police force besides fighting against anti-social elements are also committed to deal the pandemic and protect the citizens from deadly virus, but it will not be possible without the assistance of the people” police chief added.
