ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday constituted special bench to hear cases of overseas Pakistanis vide Overseas Property Act 2024.
Deputy Registrar of Islamabad High Court issued a notification in this regard. The bench will be headed by Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro which will hear cases and appeals filed by overseas Pakistanis.
IHC Chief Justice had already written a letter to session judges of East and West to constitute overseas courts. He had also assigned authority to sessions judges to appoint judges.
The IHC Registrar has written a letter to Secretary Law and Justice to issue notification for establishment of East and West Courts for overseas Pakistanis.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain lauded IHC for constituting special bench to hear cases of overseas Pakistanis.
In a statement issued by Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis on Monday, Salik Hussain said that forming of special bench will play a vital role in resolving property disputes of overseas Pakistanis.
He further said that this bench will reduce problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis.
The Federal Minister said that those Pakistanis who wanted to take legal guidelines and advise from Pakistan were facing lot of difficulties.
Chaudhary Salik Hussain said that after forming of special bench all the legal issues of overseas Pakistanis will be solved.
The Federal Minister dissolved that the bench is bound to conclude hearing of cases within ninety days.
He thanked the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court for constituting special bench for redressal of overseas Pakistanis grievances.
