IHC grants bail to 5 accused in housing society scam

ISLAMABAD (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday granted interim bail to five accused including Colonel (retd) Azhar in a case alleged corruption in Swan Garden Housing Society registered by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Chief Justice Athar Minallah, hearing the case, expressed annoyance with the official of FIA over poor investigation into the matter and said that what investigation the department had conducted when it had not collected record from bank and submitted to the court.
The investigation officer adopted the stance that they had the details of bank record but they didn’t compare it. He prayed the court to grant some time for this process.
The court said it couldn’t give more time and, subsequently, granted the pre arrest bail to the five accused. The court said the FIA could approach the court for bail cancelation if it finds the proofs against the accused. Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan Syed Tayyab Shah and defence lawyer Raja Inaam Amin Minhas attended the proceeding.
