Imposing of heavy fines: Talash traders stage protest demo against administration

F.P. Report

TIMERGARA: Talash Lower Dir traders on Thursday observed a brief shutter down strike and staged a protest rally on the road against the civil administration for imposing fines on shopkeepers and teasing them.

The shopkeepers shut their shops on the call of Anjuman Tajaran Talash and blocked the Timergara Peshawar road for some time. The acting president of traders’ body Sher Muhammad, general secretary Ghulam Muhammad and others while speaking on the occasion said the Timergara administration officers were teasing shopkeepers one way or the other. They alleged the administration imposed illegal and heavy fines on traders on the name of violation of price list and unhygienic condition. They said the Talash traders were strictly following official price list, observed cleanliness and avoided selling of sub standard items but still the administration imposed fines on them. They threatened to bring people of the area on roads against the administration if teasing business community was not stopped.
