Imran Khan appears before ATC in Dharna violence case

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan appeared before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday in four cases related to violence during the 2014 sit-in.

Earlier in the day, ATC summoned the PTI chief after both Imran and his counsel Babar Awan failed to appear in today’s hearing in the four cases filed against Imran Khan including that of the attack on the state television building, Parliament and the then Islamabad SSP Operations Asmatullah Junejo.

While presenting his arguments, Babar Awan asked the ATC   how Imran Khan is a terrorist? When he is fighting for your right is this called terrorism?

He added that PTI was demanding to catch the culprit and regarding the so far recorded 11 witnesses in the SSP Junejo attack case not a single witness had alleged that Imran carried out the attack.

Babar continued that Imran wasn’t even present at the site where SSP Junejo was attacked then how is he involved in the case.

Moreover, Prosecutor Chaudhry Shafqaat submitted a request to dismiss the bail petition of Imran Khan. The law should be the same for everyone and Imran should answer why has he been absconding, Shafqaat added.
