KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman, Imran Khan, has urged upon the people of Sindh province to get rid of Zardari and remnants of Altaf Hussain.

Without naming MQM Pakistan and other factions having curved out of the Altaf-led MQM, the PTI chairman said the people should get rid of them as well as Asif Ali Zardari in order to clean Sindh of the “governmental and political thrash”.

Whiling addressing a party meeting, where the Karachi leader Imran Ismail briefed him about the party position in Karachi, Imran Khan said that time has come to make a comprehensive strategy for cleaning the Sindh, especially Karachi.

Later speaking to traders here at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Imran Khan said that all states of the region left Pakistan behind because of the corruption here. “The nations have difficult times to face but we should think about what have gone wrong with us,” he said.

“When Prime Minister was involved in money laundering, how would the country run and go ahead. Our finance ministers and foreign ministers had been doing job abroad so how would they protect the interests of Pakistan. When a senior minister does job as security guard abroad how can we go ahead,” he further said.

“The corruption has not only impacted the businessmen community but the masses as well,” he said.

Earlier addressing lawyers at the Karachi Bar Association Imran Khan said that the country has changed forever after the disqualification of a “powerful” prime minister. “The justice is the foundation of a strong economy and that progress cannot come till there exist separate laws for the rich and the poor,” he said.

The PTI Chairman said that the law should protect the weak against the powerful and added “democracy persists when there is rule of law. When Nawaz Sharif was dragged in the court it gave a message to the corrupt mafia that they are next.”

Khan added that when the former prime minister questions that why he was ousted, he doesn’t mean to say that he is innocent why he is facing such injustice but as how can the courts dare to question him.

“Nawaz knows that a public office holder has to answer if his assets are beyond his source of income but he has the audacity to say that even if they are, what is your concern?.”

“According to a report, as many as 17,000 policemen in Sindh are involved in criminal activities,” he claimed.

It was earlier reported that the PTI chief and Pak Sarzameen Party leader Mustafa Kamal have agreed to meet soon in Karachi, according to sources.

Both the leaders discussed political developments in the country after the release of Model Town incident judicial report. They are expected to meet soon to share views on the possibility of forming a grand political alliance in the next general polls, the sources said.
