Inayat extends CDLD programme to Buner

BUNER: The billion worth community uplift programme with the name of Community Driven Local Development (CDLD) finally extended to Buner district as it was already functional in the Malakand division for the last four years wherein this programme had so far been spent rupees four billion over four thousands community uplift schemes.

The inaugural function was held at district secretariat at DAggar in Buner on Thursday. The minister local government and rural development Inayatullah Khan was chief guest. The minister religious affairs Haji Habib-ur-Rehman, District Nazim Dr. Obaidullah, Naib Nazim Yousaf Ali Khan, Deputy Commissioner Zareeful Maani, DPO Mohammad Irshad Khan, CDLD KP coordinator Said Rahman Khan, the villages nazim representative Fayaz Khan and AD local government Amanullah Khan addressed.

Provincial Minister, Inayatullah Khan while addressing the gathering of launching function CDLD programme in Buner have claimed that Rs 200 million will be spent every year for next four year over community uplift under this programme He added that DC and District Nazim will be the supervisors and monitors while the elected member’s local government and the community based organization will identify the core issues and to spent the amount for addressing these problems within their own circle.

He was proud over spending these funds for more than twenty sectors purely on the recommendations of the local bodies’ members and the community based organizations of the localities.

Inayatulah urged upon the key stakeholders that is the district administration, district government, elected public representatives and the community based organizations to serve the locals with these funds with best and transparent manners so as to convince the European union for more funding while the KP government was already allocated billions and prepared mind for allocation more funds as this community participation programme was many times better than the already introduced system of contractors and contracting the development schemes. He was thankful to the district naizm Dr. Obaidullah, naib naizm Yousafa Ali Khan, deputy commissioner Zarif-ul-Maani for their frequent visits to him and mobilization for extending this programme to Buner district.
