Independence Day, Kashmir Solidarity Day observed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
LAKKI MARWAT: The district administration with support of education department, boy scouts association and tehsil municipal administration arranged a grand function at municipal hall in Lakki city on Wednesday to celebrate Independence Day with national zeal and zest and to express solidarity with people of Kashmir.
Deputy commissioner JehangirAzamWazir performed flag hoisting ceremony while contingents of police and boy scouts presented salute on the occasion. Additional DC Noorul Amin, district nazimIqbalHussain, naibnazim Arab Khan, tribal subdivision assistant commissioner Noman Ali Shah, DEO Nazir Ahmad Khan, ADO sports Nisar Muhammad, TMO Raufullah Khan and a large number of people from different walks of life were in attendance. School students sang national anthem and released pigeons and balloons while a huge crowd raised Pakistan Zindabad and Kashmir BaneyGa Pakistan slogans. Students and boy scouts received applause from participants by singing patriotic songs and presenting tableaus.
The student speakers, in their speeches, highlighted the importance of Independence Day and expressed solidarity with people of Kashmir. They condemned atrocities of Indian occupied forces in innocent Kashmiris and asked the world community to take notice of it. The administration had decorated entire urban locality and parts of district with national and Kashmir flags. Private and official vehicles also carried national and Kashmir flags to highlight importance of day and people’s commitment to the cause of Kashmir.
Also on Wednesday, the administration arranged a car rally to show solidarity with Kashmiri people. The rally which was taken out from Lakki city passed through Tajazai, district headquarters complex, SeraiGambila and Baistkhel and culminated at Gandi square on busy Indus Highway.
On Independence Day, a group of bike riders of Lucky riders club set out on recreational trip to northern areas to disseminate and promote message that Pakistan is a safe and peaceful country for foreign tourists besides urging people to make clean and green Pakistan campaign a success. Deputy commissioner JehangirAzamWazir met the members of group and appreciated their spirit.
In Swabi.the Independence Day and solidarity day with Kashmiri people of Indian Occupied Kashmir was observed on Wednesday. Various rallies and marches were organised in the district headquarters and four tehsils. The public and private educational institutions also organised functions and gathering to pay tributes to national heroes/ founding fathers and prayed for the Kashmiri people who faced the worst atrocities.
An attractive gathering was held in GhulamIshaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology auditorium lawn. Prof. DrJameel-Un Nabi, Pro-Rector academics was chief guest on the occasion. The children of GIK College song the national anthem and tributes were paid to those who rendered sacrifices for the motherland.

AbidBunery adds from Buner: The district administration arranged grand gathering at University of Buner in Swari on Wednesday in connection with celebrations Pakistan Independence Day and Kashmir solidarity day. The Deputy Commissioner Said Nawab Khan along with MNA SherAkbhar Khan, TehselNazimGagraSalarJehan, Major Uzair, DPO Mohammad IrshadYousafazai, AD RDD Amanaullah Khan, AC DaggarLatifurRehman, AC GagraSajid Nawaz, elders of Buner and heads of departments hoisted the national flag. The police special squad presented guard of honour and saluted to the national flag. On the occasion national anthem sang.
The participants shouted slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and Kashmir Banega Pakistan. The grand gathering was attended by all segments of society including politician, social, religious figures, elected public representatives, teachers and students both male and female and masses. The participants also stage walk with banners to show joy over independence of Pakistan and solidarity with on way to freedom movement Kashmiris. The participants prayed joint prayer for integrity, solidarity, progress, prosperity and peace in Pakistan and freedom for Kashmiris from the cloches of occupied Indian forces.
During the function cash awards, shields, certificates distributed among students with outstanding position in 9th and 10th classes board examination and also to their principals. On the occasion shield presented for best performance to heads of working departments including president press club and minority member of district council Buner.
Different stalls were displayed at venue to display performances of working departments. The wild life and agriculture extension and forest departments stall were appreciated. The dignitaries and participants visited these stalls and get information from the organizers. The EDO IftikharulGhani and private education network president Nisar Khan got appreciation for their outstanding performance when the students of leadership and Dewana Baba schools presented best performances and got appreciation from the participants. The national songs, parody, plays on stage especially the presentation culture of five provinces including Azad Kashmir mostly attracted audience.
In Karak, the day was marked with traditional fervor and zeal in Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak. Vice-Chancellor of the University hoisted the national flag.
In Nowshera, the day was celebrated here with national zeal and traditional fervour. A flag-hoisting ceremony and a special function were held at the Cantonment Board Nowshera.
Station Commander Brigadier NazeerHussain Khan and Executive Officer Irfan attended the function. A contingent of the Pakistan Army saluted the flag. Another function was organized in the government Postgraduate College, Nowshera wherein DC Nowshera along with other guest and Principal of the Govt hoisted the national flag
In Bara, the paramilitary Frontier Corps of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (FC North) celebrated the Independence Day with zeal and fervour. Various events and festivities were arranged at different units. In this connection, a firing and shooting competition was held at Shahkas Khyber district among tribal elders, youth and media-men.
Small arm/SMG firing competition was also held. A large number of people from different walks of life witnessed this competition. They appreciated the role of Frontier Corps KP (North) and paid tributes to the Shuhada.
In Jamrud, people in Khyber district also entertained the Independence Day with zeal and fervor. Several functions were organized where fireworks were carried out. Musical shows were also arranged in several places. Ceremonies in the government and private schools were arranged where schoolchildren presented national songs and delivered speeches.
In Orakzai, a ceremony was held here at the Army House in ToraWrai area. Personnel of the Pak-Army, elders of the area and schoolchildren participated in the function. A flag-hoisting ceremony was held and a contingent of the military personnel saluted the flag. The schoolchildren presented the national anthem and national songs. They also delivered speeches on the occasion.
In Miran Shah, the day was celebrated with great zeal and fervour in North Waziristan district. A function was held at the Younas Khan Cricket Stadium with General Officer Commanding-7 division was the chief guest. Elders and a large number of the schoolchildren were also present on the occasion.
In Charsadda, ceremonies were held at various places in the district to celebrate the Independence Day. A special ceremony was held at the FC Fort.
A function was also held at the Wali Khan Sports Complex where representatives of the district government and the officials were present. BATKHELA: The Independence Day was celebrated in Malakand district. A special ceremony regarding the 72nd Independence Day was organized in the Levy Lines where Deputy Commissioner Malakand hoisted the flag.
In Hangu, Sector Commander South West on this occasion in his speech said that the enemies of the county wanted to remove Pakistan from the map of the world but they would never succeed in their nefarious designs. The guests jointly hoisted the flag. A smartly tuned contingent of the security forces saluted the flag.
In Kohat, the Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and fervor in Muhammad RiazShaheed Police Station. District Police Officer hoisted the flag. Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) Raza Muhammad, RokhanZeb, Sanobar Khan, IshaqGul, Assistant Superintendent of Police NasirMehmood and Station House Officers of all the police stations were present on the occasion.
In Mardan, functions and ceremonies were also arranged in various parts of the district to highlight the sacrifices and struggle of the people during the Pakistan Movement. Almost all government and private buildings, including Peshawar Sports Complex, QilaBalaHisar, State Bank Building, Peshawar High Court, Hayatabad Sports Complex etc were illuminated with lights to celebrate the Independence Day in a befitting manner.
In Dir, the day was marked in Upper Dir with pomp and show as functions were held in various places. The main function was organized in Dir Stadium where MNA SahibzadaSibgatullah, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Hamid Khan, Ex-MPA Anwar, District Sports Officer MukhtiarHussain graced the occasion as guest. School children presented national songs before a smart contingent presented guard of honor to the chief guest on this occasion of flag hoisting ceremony in Dir Upper Sports Complex.
