ISLAMABAD: Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations Services Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that Pakistan India nuclear war will be an absurd idea which can lead to vast destruction on both sides therefore nuclear fight concept should remain an ‘unthinkable and unreasonable idea’.
In an interview with British Broadcast Corporation (BBC), DG ISPR said India was full of arrogance and promoting war narrative which can spark war. He said India was playing with fire because of narrative.
General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the real conflict is in its place and can be sparked at any time. How many days have passed since May 10, but the narrative being played in India was still ongoing.
He made it clear that Pakistan wants peace, if war is imposed, Pakistan is always ready for it. Director General (DG) said India fabricates a false narrative every few years.
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry says that the world has now come to know that India’s position was baseless from the first day. In the recent circumstances, Pakistan responded with a very mature perspective. Pakistan prevented the escalation of tension. He said that if there is evidence of Pakistani involvement in the incident of extremism, then it should be given to us. We will take action ourselves. We prefer peace and love peace.
Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has dismissed India’s claim of prior warning regarding recent military activities as absurd and made it clear that Pakistan does not rely on Indian intelligence sources for its security assessments.
DG ISPR said that Pakistan’s air defense systems detect any drone intrusion instantly, particularly when Indian drones with a cross-section radar signature enter its territory.
Speaking on recent tensions between the two countries, he revealed that on May 7, India’s Director General Military Operations (DGMO) reached out to Pakistan, expressing a desire for dialogue. “We clearly told them that we would only talk once we had responded accordingly,” he said. “After our response, their military spokesperson publicly stated they did not wish to escalate further.”
Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif credited former US President Donald Trump’s leadership in diffusing earlier crises, noting that even external actors wanted to avoid escalation.
Highlighting the contrast in approach, the DG ISPR said Pakistan was currently celebrating peace, but remains fully prepared for war. “The Indian state has been hijacked by a terrorist and a single act of terrorism. Yet no one in India is questioning the facts surrounding the Pulwama incident,” he added.
He stressed that every few years, India attempts to build a false narrative to justify its actions. “The world has now realized that India’s narrative lacks credibility. In the recent standoff, Pakistan has demonstrated maturity and restraint,” he remarked.
