India rejects talks on SAARC revival

NEW DELHI: Indian rejected talks on the revival of South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) process and said that the revival of regional could only be possible in a terrorism free environment.

Secretary of Ministry of External Affairs, Preeti Saran said to media persons that India is ready to talk and willing to continue efforts for the development of the region but we also needs to look for our interests and without our interest we will never go in talks for the revival of SAARC.

She said that SAARC meeting could only be happen when one country stop promoting the terrorism in the region. The Indian statement came after Pakistan said that it supported the Sri Lankan for the revival of SAARC.

Similarly, Spokesman of Indian External Affairs Ministry, Raveesh Kumar said that India wanted conducive environment and an atmosphere free of terror for talks to resume with Pakistan.
