Inmates approached PHC for pardon

PESHAWAR: Several inmates behind the bars in the drug cases approached Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking apology/pardon granted on different occasion by state to prisoners.

The petition filed by Bakhtawar Shah along with others while Fawad Afzal Safi Advocate will represent applicants before court. The petition stated that the applicants are convicted but deprived from apology/pardon granted by state’s officials on different occasion after completion of their convictions.

The terrorist and anti-state element didn’t liable for apology/pardon because these crimes are great offenses but drug didn’t lie within the definition of crimes and argued that applicants are able for relief. The petitioner requested for producing record before court while provincial government and Department of Prisons Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are made respondents in the case.

Meanwhile, District and Session Judge (D&SJ) Ishfaq Taj has declared unmaintainable 22A petition seeking registration of First Information Report (FIR) against Tik Tok Star Hareem Shah filed by another Tik Tok star belonging to Karak district Sandal Khattak at session courts Peshawar.
