Iran FM claims Daesh leaders coming to Afghanistan

KABUL (TOLOnews): Amir Hossein Abdollahian, Iran’s foreign minister, claimed that leaders and fighters of Daesh have recently moved to Afghanistan from Iraq, Syria and parts of Libya.
Abdollahian said that the shifting of the Daesh leaders to Afghanistan has become one of the main challenges ahead of the interim Afghan government. The Islamic Emirate has yet to react to the Iranian foreign minister’s remarks. Previously, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, Zabiullah Mujahid, told TOLOnews that Daesh is being suppressed in Afghanistan and that there is no threat from Afghan soil to other countries. Janat Fahim Chakari, a political analyst, said that security is one of the main achievements currently in Afghanistan.
“The regional countries should not be worried. They should focus on their internal issues. The only achievement that Afghanistan has right now is security,” he said. “If any terrorist groups seek to conduct destructive actions, it is suppressed by the ruling government.”
The Iranian foreign minister also voiced concerns saying that any kind of instability in Afghanistan will directly affect the border region between the two countries. Abdollahian also voiced concerns about the entry of Afghan refugees to Iran. He stressed the need for the formation of an inclusive government, saying that Iran has not recognized the Taliban politically and this issue has offended the interim Afghan government.
