Iran not after war, but fully prepared: IRGC Cmdr

TEHRAN (IRNA): Iran is not looking for any type of war, but it is fully prepared to defend itself, said Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Major-General Hossein Salami on Sunday.

‘The enemies of Iran don’t hunt for a war, either. But there is a difference between them and us: they are afraid of war; their limit is where their life is in danger, which makes them easy to be defeated,’ said Major-General Salami in a meeting to introduce Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC)’s new top officials, adding that the IRGC is closely monitoring the enemy and has stopped them.

He went on to say that the enemies have been defeated in their political philosophy, which is plundering the nations, capturing them, creating modern slavery, and dominating their fate unilaterally.

Major-General Salami went on to say that this philosophy generates wars and oppressive interventions. It never generates power, but it makes enemies: and as the Americans themselves put it, it produces risks in the world.

Today, the Islamic countries have turned into a growth field for youth, one of whose manly desires is fight the enemies; the enemy’s worry has changed the region into a potential fire field for the US.

He also said that the enemy has a powerful façade, but it is actually eroding away, which is the path of all the satanic powers.

They are tired and disappointed, and God willing they will soon fall, he added.

‘We have learned that threats are the factors to improve and become powerful; the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has not been growing in a greenhouse; it has been struggling with the enemy,’ Salami said, adding that the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) is in the frontline of fighting countering the enemy.

‘An enemy like the US will never be out of focus, and as long as such an enemy with such an oppressive behavior intends to introduce itself as a global power, it is natural that we will counter it.’
