Irum Farooqui says MQM-P should get rid of Amir, Izhar, Faisal Sabzwari

KARACHI (NNI): Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) dissident Irum Azeem Farooqui on Thursday asked the MQM-Pakistan to remove senior leaders Amir Khan, Izhar-ul-Hassan and Faisal Sabzwari from the party for they were mafias who collected money from towns.

“I have always said that MQM-P is a good party, but it has got mafias in the top brass. The good ones need to kick them out before they take over,” Irum Azeem Farooqui said in a statement.

She also said she was soon going to leave Pakistan as she had life threat here, however, she would keep chanting Pakistan Zindabad (long live Pakistan), she added.

The former MQM MPA said Amir, Izhar and Faisal had formed teams who collected money from towns in Karachi, hence they should be removed from the party or they would ruin it.

She said those were the people who only cared about their businesses and not about the cause of the party.

“These people played a double game with me after I had left MQM. On one hand, they called me to rejoin the party and on the other hand, they spoke badly about me in party meetings,” she said.

Ms Farooque recently parted ways with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after her short-lived association with the party. She has also dismissed rumours of her rejoining the MQM-P.

She had bid adieu to the MQM following its former chief Altaf Hussain’s anti-Pakistan diatribe on August 22, 2016 and joined the PTI on Aug 1, 2017. But her association with the new party couldn’t last long.
