ISIS-K blown up by IED in Kunar

KABUL: At least four militants affiliated with ISIS Khurasan terrorist group have been killed in an explosion triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device.

The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military confirmed that the militants were blown up by an Improvised Explosive Device which the militants were looking to use in an attack.

According to a statement released by 201st Silab, the incident has taken place in the vicinity of Pech Dara district of Kunar province.

The statement further added that the explosion took place while the militants were looking to transfer and plant the IED in Kalaigal area of the district.

The anti-government armed militant groups including ISIS-K loyalists have not commented regarding the incident so far. Kunar is among the relatively volatile provinces in East of Afghanistan where both ISIS-K and Taliban militants are active in some of its districts. (Khaama Press)
