Islamabad reported 51 new cases of coronavirus

ISLAMABAD: The federal capital of the country Islamabad hitting hard by the coronavirus and on Saturday 51 new case of the deadly virus reported with a total tally reached to 609 with a count of 4 deaths the data mentioned.

It’s pertained to mentioned here that following the Prime Minister of the country Imran Khan announcement of easing the already imposed lockdown the federal capital was seen crowded as shops and other commercial places resumed functioning today but the cases of the covid-19 in capital are on ascending limb.

According to the data the Islamabad congested sector I-10 is still on hit list of the covid-19 following the 36 cases reported on a single day and today 6 new cases reported from the mentioned sector following that the count of the virus infection reached to 55 while 49 suspects’ results are pending in the area.

The Islamabad’s administration already sealed most of the location in the sector.

Another hotspot in the federal capital is Barakahu another crowded and congested sector who reported initial cases following the contracting of virus by religious Talbeghi group members following that the administration sealed the premises of Barakahu as well.

Till this time 40 virus infections reported in the area while 117 suspects are results are pending as well Tarlai reported 45 cases of the covid reporting second highest cases in the capital.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Mohammad Hamaz Shafqat told The Frontier Post that cases are increasing in the capital but lockdown isn’t the solution because in next 4 months the curve of the infection will run in the capital so how we can impose lockdown for upcoming 4 months. DC defend the argument of Prime Minister that people will die from hunger if we didn’t ease lockdown but he mentioned that all people linked to commercial activities will strictly impose the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be followed by all stakeholders and the violators will face legal action.

DC mentioned that 2,139 cases are of suspect nature and their screening are in process while 7,678 cases are negative.

The data shows that other hotspots in the capital are Lohiber where 36 cases reported, G-11 reported 30 cases while the I-8 sector reported 27 cases according to the data.
