Islamic Emirate pledges security of Foreign Embassies

KABUL (Tolonews): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan assured the security of embassies for the return of diplomats from other countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, in Kabul.

The Islamic Emirate’s spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that security has been maintained throughout the nation and that diplomats from nations like Saudi Arabia could resume their diplomatic missions in Kabul without fear.

“Our message to Saudi Arabia is that complete security is provided. Do not hesitate. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s forces are putting in their final effort to ensure the security of the diplomatic centers in Kabul. They have stayed secure up to now,” Mujahid told TOLOnews.

“We provide a better atmosphere. The security and stability for the embassies is great here and the environment is favorable, and we want no one to be afraid. They should activate their embassies as before and continue their consular activities and provide services,” the Islamic Emirate’s spokesperson added.

“They are influenced by America. The Americans still do not have an embassy in Afghanistan; in my opinion, the Saudis cannot open their embassy in Afghanistan without the permission of the United States,” said Sayed Akabr Agha, a political analyst.

According to some political analysts, the Islamic Emirate should outline the elements of its foreign policy in order to improve ties.

“They should perform three fundamental duties. First, it should make clear the basic principles of its foreign policy; second, the Islamic Emirate’s diplomatic system should become more active than before; and third, it should build trust and strengthen ties between the governments,” said Mohammad Salim Kakar, a political analyst.

The Islamic Emirate’s spokesperson said more than two months ago that Riyadh recalled its diplomats for a week of training, but Reuters reported that due to security threats, Saudi Arabia’s diplomats left Kabul and went to Pakistan.
