Issuing Production Order is my discretion: NA speaker

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser Thursday said he has discretionary powers to issue production order of any detained member of the House and he is not bound to anyone in this regard.

Speaking here in the National Assembly on a point of order, raised by Minister for Aviation Division Ghulam Sarwar Khan during his budget speech, he said he is not bound to anyone to issue production orders and has discretionary powers in this regard.

Earlier, the minister expressed his opinion about the issuance of production order of former President and MNA Asif Ali Zardari.

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar issued production order of former president Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khawaja Saad Rafique on Wednesday.

Both the leaders were arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in separate graft cases.
