Jamhuriat Hospital receives health equipment

Monitoring Desk

KABUL: The Netherlands-based Kayehan Foundation, which connects youth and medical professionals, provided health equipment to the Afghan Jamhuriat Hospital in an effort to fight the spread of the coronavirus. 200 sets of protective clothing, eye protection, masks and 10 medical machines were donated, stated health officials.

“We want and expect the youth to support doctors with their white uniforms, who are fighting on the frontlines,” says Sarah Mohammad Ahmadzai, head of Jamhuriat Hospital.

“We wanted to assist the health workers who fight the virus daily, and protect them so that they can continue their efforts,” said Mohammad Farzad Kabuli, a representative of the Kayehan Foundation.

Meanwhile, a private company in Kabul city has disinfected particular areas including Shahr-e-Naw, Kolola Pushta and Qala-e-Fathullah to further prevent the further outbreak of COVID-19.

“We want to disinfect some parts of Kabul city to protect our people and we also want other businessmen to contribute to helping people in this hard time,” stated Hashmatullah, a businessman.

This comes as the Ministry of Public Health urged Afghans to follow the recommended health measures more strictly to avoid the spread of the coronavirus. (TOLOnews)
