Jamshoro: police recovered five bombs near Mehran University

JAMSHORO: A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused five bombs which were found near the entrance of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) in Jamshoro on Wednesday morning.

The bomb disposal squad was informed around at 8:00 am and the squad had rushed to defuse the bomb which was found on the road side.

University Officials said that the bombs were first found at 7:30am which is the busiest hour when the university buses do their duty of pick and drop rounds in the morning. He added that bombs were placed on a road which leads to Indus Highway and a office of National Highway Authority and Motorway Police is also located near in the area where the bombs were found.

BDS officials handed over the locally made bombs to Jamshoro police and told to media that overall 25 kilogram were weight of the bombs.

Prof Dr Aslam Uqaili, Vice chancellor of Mehran University, said that the unidentified suspects had been unable to install the bombs within the university’s premises due to internal security measures.
