Japanese commander meets Admiral Zafar

ISLAMABAD: Vice Chief of Joint Staff, Japan Self Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Takashi Motomatsu on Wednesday called on Chief of Pakistan Navy Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad.

The Pakistan Navy spokesperson said both the military leaders exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest including defence and security.

On this occasion, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi thanked Lieutenant General Takashi Motomatsu for Japan’s full participation in multi-nation maritime exercise ‘Aman 2019’, the Pakistan Navy spokesperson said.

He said the Japanese vice Chief of Joint Staff, Self Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Takashi Motomatsu  appreciated Pakistan for holding ‘Aman 2019’ to jointly resolve regional security challenges.

He also lauded the Pakistan Navy for ensuring joint regional maritime security.
