Javed Miandad responds to Shahid Afridi’s allegations

LAHORE (Monitoring Desk): Legendary cricketer Javed Miandad has responded to the allegations Shahid Afridi made in his autobriography.

Javed Miandad said that masala (spice) is always added to the books. Shahid Afridi has written what he wanted to write. “I leave all these allegations to Allah. Is it possible that a cricketer is not allowed to do net practice before a test match?” he said.

He said that he always made the players do net practice and Salahuddin Salu is a witness. “Allah has given me much respect. Allah also has a rule. If a person is bad, he gets infame and if he is good, he gets good respect,” Miandad said.

People respect me all over the world today. They respect me because they know I have served Pakistan, he added. “I was the coach of Pakistan team, every person can give my example,” he further said.

“I worked all my life keeping Allah in my mind. These allegations don’t make any difference. All of this will be evaluated on the Day of Judgment. Every person will get to know about their deeds then,” Miandad added.

Shahid Afridi has made some startling revelations in his autobiography ‘Game Changer’. Shahid Afridi has criticised many fellow cricketers, including the legendary ones. He criticised various cricketers, incluing Waqar Younis, Shoaib Malik and Javed Miandad.

In his autobiography, Afridi revealed that he was not 16 when he played his first one-day match. He was 19-year-old then.

He wrote that Javed Miandad did not like his batting style, alleging that he was not allowed to do net practice before Chennai test in 1999. Afridi wrote that he thought of Miandad as a great cricketer but he is an inferior person. He said that he was forced to praise Miandad in the presentation ceremony.
