JI Amir Sirajul Haq steps down for failure to deliver in election

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq has stepped down for failure to deliver in the general election 2024, on Monday

The JI has failed to secure seats in the National Assembly. It got just two Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly seats.

JI spokesperson Qaiser Sharif confirmed the decision of Sirajul Haq, citing him as saying he could not give the desired success to Jamaat-e-Islami in the elections.

“Accepting this failure, I resign from the party leadership. The JI members worked hard, Allah may accept their hard work.”

Qaiser Sharif said the JI Majlis-e-Shura will be held on February 17 to take up the matter.
