JI Emir urges for an international fund to help people of Gaza

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has asserted that the Israeli government is engaged in war crimes, specifically targeting hospitals and schools in Gaza.

Speaking at a workers’ convention on Wednesday, he emphasized that the visit of the US president to Israel, during a time when occupying forces were ruthlessly taking the lives of innocent civilians in Palestine, stood as a stark challenge to the civilized world, aiming at conveying to the Muslim nation that no one could hold Israeli accountable for her actions.

Highlighting the significance of unity within the Muslim Ummah, he emphasized its necessity in liberating the holy land from the unlawful Jewish state. Haq claimed that Hamas had refrained from targeting any children or women during its raids on Israel.

He criticized the western media for propagandizing and attempting to justify the brutal acts of Israel while noting the global recognition of the Palestinian struggle.

Advocating for the establishment of an international fund to aid the people of Gaza, he praised the efforts of the al-Khidmat Foundation, which had already dispatched assistance to the people in Gaza. He appealed to the nation to generously contribute to the fund, which was specifically created to assist the children and women in the Gaza Strip.

Haq commended the unity demonstrated by the Pakistani nation on the issue of Palestine and stressed the imperative need for similar unity at the governmental level within the Islamic world. He urged Muslim leaders to act as genuine representatives of the sentiments of the Ummah.

Furthermore, he told the gathering that he had established the al-Quds Committee during the national conference on Palestine in Islamabad on Tuesday. This committee, he said, aimed to raise awareness about the ongoing crisis in Palestine by organizing meetings with the ambassadors of various countries.

Pointing out the use of chemical weapons by Israel, he highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, where thousands of civilians were trapped and in urgent need of food and water. He announced Pakistan’s intention to send ten million signed petitions to the UN Secretary-General in support of Palestine and called for a nationwide boycott of Israeli products. Expressing optimism, he believed that Palestine would soon gain freedom from the oppression of hostile Jewish forces. (NNI)
