JI protests against Trump

Rifaqat Ullah Razarwal

CHARSADDA: Jamaat-e-Islami held a protest US President Donald Trump`s decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel and described it as a well-organized conspiracy against Muslims and against Pakistan of insincerity and duplicity in the fight against terrorism.

The rally staged from Bacha Khan Chowk to Farooq Azam Chowk. Led by JI Amir Mohammad Riaz Khan, Per Masood Jan, Zakat District Chairman, Mohammad Haroon and Fawad Khan, JI Youth president, the participants held banners and flags inscribed with anti-US slogans and shouted slogans against Trump.

The speakers said the entire Pakistani nation was outraged by the US president for launching a diatribe against Pakistan while announcing his administration`s Afghan policy. They urged the Muslim Ummah to forge unity against the Zionist forces and why the US recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital to hurt the sentiments of Muslims across the world. They said Pakistan had laid down at least 60,000 lives, including those of the personnel of law enforcement agencies, and suffered huge losses during the war on terrorism but even then, the US president spoke against it.

The speakers said the US was criticizing Pakistan to please India, which couldn`t see its western neighbor progress, especially after the launch of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project. They warned that the entire Pakistani nation stood by the Pakistan Army and would foil all conspiracies and actions against the country.
