Jirga announce social boycott of family for killing two persons

SWABI: Jirga members in their meeting held on Saturday have unanimously vowed to implement the social boycott decision made by them that no one would be allowed to enter in any interaction with Munsif Khan’s family of Maina village who had allegedly hired two contract killers for killing of his late brother’s wife and her son on September 23.

In a related development district police held a press conference in which the two arrested contacted killer showed to the media along with Munsif who confessed that they had killed the ill-fated mother Saleema Banat and her son, Zeeshan Khan.
The jirga members said that the unbridle greed for property and wealth had led to killing of the mother and her son but thrown out another one from the societal set up and pushed their head behind the bars.

The widow and her sole son were brutally killed inside their house in the blanket of night and Mr. Munsif’s family sharing boundary wall with them.

The gory incident had forced the people of the area to place the dead bodies on Swabi-Mardan road as a protest, demanding justice for the deceased and arresting of the killers as soon as possible.

“We were having no relations with the deceased but the big question is why such barbaric incident was occurred in our society. Who were involved directly or indirectly and what was their motive,” said Sher Ali, a local leader while expressing his views.

During the protest besides the dead bodies was standing Mansif Khan, Zeeshan’s uncle who later registered an FIR in the city police station, saying that he had heard the gun shots and rushed to the house of his late brother, Banat Khan and found his wife and son in the pool of the blood.

An FIR was registered against unidentified killers. However, the city police waited for ending the three days mourning and soon after that arrested Mr Munsif.

“We have started investigation from Munsif because our pre-arrest investigation culminated on the note the Munsif was the main culprit and source of killing. It was really proved true when we investigated Mr Munsif,” said Swabi DSP Zahir Shah while briefing the media.

During the investigation Munsif revealed that he hired two contact killers who done their job. He had paid them Rs 0.2 million in advance and Rs 0.2 million were be paid after completing the given task. The total payment of the contact killers was Rs 0.4 million.

The two arrested contacted killers identified as Zahoor Khan and Tayab Zaman were also showed to the media. They belong to Pabbini village.

In reply to a question, Mr Azhar said that they contract killers have been under investigations because they wanted to know that they had killed how many other people in the district or any other area.

Knowing about the contact killer it caused more agony among the jirga members and local people who were determined the cruel act of Mr. Munsif could be countered with unity and strong resolve.

The people decided that no relations would be kept with Munsif’s family and adopted the policy of the social boycott.
Participants said that the big question asked by the people to know that why Munsif was involved in such heinous crime and what he and his family really wanted to achieve.
Actually Mr Munisf concluded that after killing Zeeshan and her mother no one would be left and they would heir of the property. “This was the main reason behind the entire incident and poisoning of Mr Banat,” said Mr Sher Ali.
He said that that about 15/20 kanal land of Mr Banat would never ever be given to Mr Munisf and they would build mosque and a religious institution on them. “This was the decision of local jirga members,” he said.
