JI’s destination is prosperous, Islamic Pakistan: Leaders

TIMERGARA: Leaders and lawmakers of the Jamaat-i-Islami from Lower Dir on Sunday said their destination was a clean, prosperous and Islamic Pakistan for which youth forces was being mobilized.

They were speaking at a JI Youth convention organized by the Lower Dir chapter at a local wedding hall at Zwall Baba. A large number of the JI youth, party workers and area elders attended the convention.

The provincial minister for finance Muzafar Syed, JI district emir Maulana Asadullah, MNA Sahibzada Yaqub Khan, MPA Izaz ul Mulk Afkari, district nazim Muhammad Rasool Khan, JI Youth provincial president Zubair Ahmad Gondal, general secretary Yousaf Ali and others spoke on the occasion.

They said there was no dearth of natural and human resources in the country but due to corrupt and inefficient rulers those resources could not be utilized properly. They said the country needed leadership like President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.

The speakers said that youth constituted over 60 per cent of the total population in Pakistan. They said that nearly 30 per cent of the population in Pakistan is between 15 and 29 years.

The speakers said that youth were the real asset of the JI and the party had decided to allot 50 per cent of its seats to youth for the 2018 general election.

The JI leaders said the party was optimistic that youth would help MMA to win majority of seats.

They said it was only the JI that held intra party election for its youth wing.

“In Punjab province 1.2 million youth filled membership forms while 14000 youth have been elected as office bearers,” Zubair Ahmad Gondal said, adding that million more were registered as JI Youth members.

The speakers said youth were the frontline force in their party and they would play active role in next elections. They asked the participants to be organized and united and convey the message of the party to every nook and corner of the province.

The speakers also lauded the efforts of Late Dr Yaqub Khan for development of the area and paid rich tributes to him.

They said that construction of the Balambat Irrigation channel, establishment of Timergara Medical College, Koto Hydro power station and construction of several important bridges were the achievements of the JI lawmakers.

The KP finance minister Muzafar Syed announced Rs 100,000 for the JI Youth Balambat chapter and educational expenses of the three top positions’ holder students on the occasion.
