JIT formed to probe firing incident at apex court Judge Ijaz residence

LAHORE: A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was formed on Sunday to probe the firing incidents at Justice Ijazul Ahsan’s Lahore residence.

Additional IG Muhammad Tahir will head the JIT, which will include DIG Investigation Sultan Chaudhry and representatives of the Military Intelligence, Inter-Services Intelligence, and Intelligence Bureau, said the spokesperson of the Punjab Government. Officers of the Special Branch and Forensics Agency will also be part of the team.

Police also registered a case for firing at the residence of Justice Ijazul Ahsan.

The case was registered on the behalf of constable Asif in the police station. The police said that the case was registered against unidentified assailants. Clauses of terrorism and attempt on life were included in the FIR, including 324 and 427.
