JUI-F chief, Nawaz Sharif discuss political situation

LAHORE: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday met former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif at his resident in Jati Umra.

During the meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Nawaz Sharif discussed current political situation in the country. Both leaders also deliberated on the ways to make opposition strong.

Sources said that after meeting Nawaz Sharif, the JUI-F chief is expected to meet Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

Talking to media after the meeting, Fazlur Rehman said that Imran Khan was imposed on the people of Pakistan as Prime Minister. He further termed majority in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as fake.

Nawaz Sharif is ready to oppose the government, however, now, we need to identify the way of holding the movement, he added.

The JUI-F chief further suggested to take stern decision in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) matter.

While reacting to the meeting, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said the Supreme Court was told that if Nawaz Sharif was not granted bail, his disease may worsen.

He said lie was told as usual, and now JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has reached to meet Nawaz Sharif and give him political oxygen.

The minister said the court should take notice of the matter.
