JUI-F holds protest against ban on NCP vehicles in Khyber

KHYBER: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) held a protest demonstration against ban on non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles here on Monday.

A large number of JUI-F members and other people of the district attended he protest demonstration held at Landi Kotal Bypass Road in Khyber.

The passengers had to suffer as Pak-Afghan Highway remained closed for more than an hour due to protest.

Addressing the protestors, Secretary General (SG) JUI-F FATA Mufti Ijaz Shinwari, Qari Nazeem Gul, Qari Jehad Shah Afridi and others said that during the protest held against ban on NCP vehicles in previous month, it was assured to resolve the issue till January 31, but despite passage of deadline not step has been taken in this connection.

They said that the NCP vehicles were not allowed to travel to other side of the Bagiari check post due to which the people of the district had to suffer. The urged the authorities concerned to resolve the issues at earliest.

Later, Tehsildar and Line Office Khan Aridi held dialogues with the protestors and assured them of forwarding their demands to high authorities till Sunday next after which they opened the road and dispersed peacefully.
