Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh takes oath as LHC acting chief justice

LAHORE: Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh has taken oath as the acting chief justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) following the departure of Chief Justice Aalia Neelum on an overseas visit.

A simple yet dignified oath-taking ceremony was held at the Judges’ Lounge of the Lahore High Court, where Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza administered the oath.

The event was attended by judges of the LHC, office-bearers of the Bar Association, federal and provincial law officers, lawyers, and judicial officers.

On the occasion, judges and lawyers congratulated Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh on assuming charge as the acting chief justice.

It is noteworthy that Justice Aalia Neelum’s foreign visit necessitated the appointment of Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh as acting chief justice of the LHC.
