Justice (Rtd) Javed Iqbal assumes charge as NAB Chairman

ISLAMABAD: Newly appointed Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (Rtd) Javed Iqbal officially took charge on Wednesday said that all major cases in bureau will be solved as per the law.

This he said while informally talking to media after appearing before the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights. He said that the unnecessary delay in all the cases will not be tolerated and proceeding will be concluded quickly.

All the cases in the NAB against the politicians would be dealt on merit however did not say any words regarding the cases against the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.

Earlier, when Iqbal reached NAB headquarters on Wednesday morning to formally assume charge as head of the federal anti-graft body, he was received by Deputy Chairman NAB and other officers.

Speaking to the committee, headed by Senator Nasreen Jalil, Iqbal said he has given importance to the parliament and the constitution all his life.
