Kabir calls for reopening of countries’ embassies in Afghanistan

KABUL (TOLOnews): Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, Political Deputy of the Prime Minister, in a meeting with some foreign diplomats in Doha, has called for the reopening of embassies in Kabul.

Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said that in the meeting between Kabir and foreign diplomats in Qatar, they also discussed bilateral cooperation, security issues, and humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

According to the Deputy Spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, representatives from the UK, Canada, Italy, France, South Korea, Australia, Germany, and the US were present at the meeting.

“He asked them to move their embassies and representations to Kabul and carry out their work from here,” Fitrat told TOLOnews.

Meanwhile, some political analysts said that for the reopening of countries’ political representations in Afghanistan, the Islamic Emirate needs to comply with some of the world’s demands.

“The Islamic Emirate is responsible for resolving internal issues to create an environment for interaction with world countries and to facilitate our people who are migrants, students, or traders worldwide,” Mohammad Mateen Mohammadkhail, a political analyst, told TOLOnews.

“When Western countries come together and hold a meeting with Mawlawi Kabir, it creates a goodwill atmosphere and a positive step towards opening embassies and representations in Kabul,” said Fazal Rahman Oria, another political analyst.

The Political Deputy of the Prime Minister had previously said that currently, 40 political representations of countries are active in Afghanistan and efforts are being made to increase this number.
