Kabul bans vehicles cross its border in sans road pass

LANDI KOTAL: Afghan government restricted the Kabul bound trucks, loaded with exports commodities at Torkham border not to cross the border in their country without holding road pass that suspended trade at the border.

The Pak border official while confirming the new development said that on Monday the Afghan border officials banned the transit and other exports loaded trailers, lacking road permit to cross in the border to Afghanistan. He added that due to rejection of the Afghan government hundreds of loaded trucks, packed in the parking lots of Torkham and temporary export was suspended to Afghanistan.

Previously, the Afghan conciliate in Pakistan will grant registration copy to all trucks crossing the border to Afghanistan. President Torkham transport association, AzeemullahShinwari said that earlier the Pak officials implemented the policy that was now followed by the Afghan government that added their miseries.

Without prior information, the Afghan government made it compulsory and immediately effected for the truckers to produce road permit while crossing the Torkham border to Afghanistan that was impossible for them and the decision added financial loss to the transporter.

He further added that more than 1200 laden trailers had been struck at the border that created traffic mess at the border. He demanded of the Afghan government to revise the decision for three months so that they could able to get road pass. It is to be mentioned here that Pak consulates in Afghanistan used to issue road pass to Afghan vehicles and vice versa.
