Kangana Ranaut to launch her production house
MUMBAI: Last seen in Ekta Kapoor’s Judgementall Hai Kya, Kangana Ranaut is currently busy with her upcoming projects. She will be next seen in Thalaivi, a biopic based on the life of late politician J Jayalalithaa.
Other than this, the latest we hear is that Kangana is now gearing up to launch her own production house which will be called Manikarnika Films. She’s expected to launch it in 2020 and will open a studio in Khar, Mumbai. Some reports further suggest that her office will be ready by January next year.
Talking about the same in a recent interview, the actress said there’s a lot of talent and good scripts around which shouldn’t get wasted. Kangana said, “It’s important that these powerful scripts don’t get lost and make it to the big screen. If Judgementall Hai Kya was made without me on a budget of Rs 10 crore, it would have been a blockbuster at Rs 40 crore. However, because it was made at nearly Rs 30 crore, it just about broke even. I want to [back] a few small films and see how that goes. Eventually, I may do something on a bigger level. We will also venture into digital entertainment. There is a lot of talent around and I will hire actors who are perfect for the scripts. I will take new talent under my wing and guide them.”
Meanwhile, other than the J Jayalalithaa biopic, Kangana will also be seen in Dhaakad and Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Panga opposite Jassie Gill.
