Kapil Sharma breaks silence on ouster of Navjot Singh Sidhu from his show

MUMBAI (Web Desk): Indian comedian Kapil Sharma has finally spoken out on the ouster of Navjot Singh Sidhu from ‘The Kapil Sharma show’ over his remarks on Pulwama attack.

The Kapil Sharma Show had dismissed Punjab cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu from the show after his remarks on the Pulwama terror attack.

Kapil Sharma had kept mum on the issue but today Kapil finally broke his silence.

Kapil told India media that ‘Navjot Singh Sidhu is busy with his prior commitments due to which Archana Puran Singh is shooting with us.’

He went on to say, ‘I feel banning someone or sacking Navjot Singh Sidhu from the show is not the solution. We need to look for a permanent solution.’

The former cricketer-turned-politician had said that terrorism has no religion, no nation, which created a huge outrage on social media.

According to a report by the Indian Express, the Indian politician who had been part of the show since 2016 was asked to leave after his remarks on the Pulwama district attack that killed over 40 Indian soldiers. He will now be replaced with Archana Puran Singh.

The report citing a source revealed: “His remarks have not been taken kindly by most. Also, the channel and the show was getting dragged into the unwanted controversy. This is when the team amicably decided that Navjot make a distance from the show. The team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana.”

The former cricketer had earlier stated regarding the attack: “Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion). There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.”
