KARACHI: Karachi Kings has announced Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) as its Official Charity Partner for HBL Pakistan Super League 8. Imad Wasim will lead 2020 winners Karachi Kings this season.
The team will clash with Peshawar Zalmi in their first match on Saturday in Karachi, which is one day before the International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day. Karachi Kings and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) will engage in various activities to highlight the cause of fighting cancer through the platform of cricket because we must unite to close the care gap and address avoidable and unfair disparities in cancer outcomes for patients resulting from who they are or where they live.
The team represents Karachi where Pakistan’s largest tertiary care cancer centre is under construction, expected to open in late 2023.
Together, we can close the care gap for cancer patients of Southern Pakistan by providing equitable access to cancer treatment under one roof, irrespective of their ability to pay.
