Karachi operation brings positive result: Murad Ali Shah

KARACHI: Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah has said the Karachi Operation which was initiated in 2013 was proved to be the best targeted operation in the world because no innocent life was lost in it.

This he said while talking to the Foreign Service Academy’s delegation on Wednesday. CM Murad said that the operation was started under National Action Plan (NAP) and so far 1,028,218 suspected criminals were arrested and 1258 were killed during the operation.

During the operation the support of residents of Karachi was exemplary and this is the biggest reason behind the success of Karachi operation, he added.

Those political forces tried to deteriorate Karachi situation, now they are receiving end and suffered the most damage, he added.

Regarding the development of Karachi, he said that several development schemes are underway and it will surely increase the investments in the economical hub of Pakistan.

The operation was initiated in Pakistan’s commercial hub in September 2013 after the federal cabinet empowered Rangers to lead a targeted advance with the support of police. Since then Rangers have extended their powers every few months when they expire.
