Karachi police arrest 25 PTI workers after clash, 7 policemen injured

KARACHI: South Police went out of control at Teen Talwar Chowk Karachi and tortured media reporters and cameramen while covering Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally.

South Police severely tortured Reporter of ARY News Afzal Pervez and PNN Reporter.

Meanwhile, police arrested more than 20 workers of PTI and shifted the arrested persons to different police stations.

Later, police used tear gas and baton charged the protesters and participants of rally.

DIG Police South Karachi Syed Asad Raza said seven policemen were injured by pelting stones by PTI workers. He said cases will be registered under the provisions of the attempt to murder against those who take out a rally without permission and attack the police in the red zone.

The DIG confirmed that around 25 people have been arrested in total. He said PTI workers snatched a shell gun box, and 12 shells from Constable Rashid Awan during the rally.

He said the activists snatched the official fiber stick from Constable Muhammad Faizan and hit Constable Faizan with a stone on his head which injured him.

He said the PTI workers injured Constable Nasir Bashir and Constable Deen Muhammad. He added all the injured constables were sent to the hospital for treatment.
