Karachi: Three die as gas cylinder blast brings down building

KARACHI: Three people died while eight others including women injured when a cylinder blast brought down a building in Karachi on Monday.

The explosion in the two-storey building located at Jaffar Chowk in Machhar Colony was heard miles away.

A rescue team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured and bodies to a hospital, expressing fears that there might be more casualties under the rubble.

Witnesses also saw several gas cylinders lying near the explosion site.

The SSP Kemari said Karachi police received a report of a cylinder explosion that damaged a building. He said concerned police and Rangers teams were present at the blast site.
