Karbala tragedy was battle between right and wrong: CM
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said on Monday that the tragedy of Karbala was a battle between right and wrong adding that the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) offered an everlasting and unprecedented sacrifice for the sake of Islam that would be remembered for the rest of the world.
In his message, issued here on the occasion of Ashura Muharram, the Chief Minister said that the Karbala tragedy is an incident based on the cruelty of the incompetent rulers of history, which has a great lesson for the entire humanity.
“The Karbala tragedy teaches us to love, cherish, sacrifice, support for the truth, oppose falsehood and fight against oppression, through which Muslims could not only restore their previous glory but also could eliminate victimization of humanity and ignorance to establish peace in the entire world,” he stated.
Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) was the harbinger of truth against the cruelty of Yazid.
He added that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) gave the lesson of standing tall against the cruel rulers and their anti-human policies.
Syedna Imam Hussain (RA) sacrificed his entire family in order to keep this message of humanity and struggle alive till doomsday and set great examples of patience and perseverance for the upliftment of truth and righteousness.
He maintained that we should stand united against corruption, injustice and oppression for the dominance of Islam and stability of Pakistan.
Mahmood Khan appealed to nation that peace is our national and international need, so during this blessed month, interfaith harmony should be maintained at all times.
He said that today, we need to unite and continue to fight for the elimination of problems, corruption and struggle for the restoration of justice.
