Karzai meets Charles III; discuss Afghan situation

KABUL (Khaama Press): Hamid Karzai, the former president of Afghanistan, met with Charles III, the King of England, the Ministry of State for Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Special Representative and several Afghans in London.
In his meeting with the king of England, the former president discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the beginning of a national dialogue for peace and stability in the country, said Tayeb Javad, the former ambassador of Afghanistan, quoted by BBC.
Sources said that Britain is concerned about the current situation in Afghanistan and supports a national dialogue for peace and stability in the country.
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry of the United Kingdom advised British citizens against all travel to Afghanistan.
“You should not travel to Afghanistan. The security situation in Afghanistan remains extremely volatile. There is an ongoing and high threat of terrorist attacks through Afghanistan, including around the airport,” the announcement said.
Following the withdrawal of the international forces in August 2021, the UK and the NATO member states shuttered their Embassies and Diplomatic Missions in Afghanistan.
Due to several factors, no country, not even the UK, has yet recognized the Taliban’s de facto rule as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.
The current government is charged with violating human and women’s rights in Afghanistan.
