Kashmir Liberation movement entered decisive phase: Siraj

LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the Kashmir Liberation movement had entered the decisive phase and it was obligatory for the government of Pakistan to discharge its responsibilities in this direction.

Addressing a high level meeting of the JI in this regard on Wednesday, Sirajul said that the UN resolutions on Kashmir must be implemented. He said that special desks should be set up at the Pakistan embassies in foreign countries and a deputy Foreign Minister should be appointed to exclusively deal with the Kashmir issue by mobilizing world opinion on the issue.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul HaqThe JI chief said that a special OIC meeting should be called to project the Kashmir issue as the collective issue of the Muslim Ummah and to increase the pressure for its solution on behalf of the Muslim world.

Sirjaul Haq said that the Kashmirs had come on roads with the aim of “Now or Never” and were offering blood for the completion of Pakistan. He said that the Pakistan government was unable to give due attention to the Kashmir issue because of its internal problems. However, he said that India’s defeat on Kashmir was the writing on the wall. He said that Kashmir was the issue of life and death for this country and the government should step forward to and give full patronage to the Kashmiris.

The JI chief said that talks with India could be only on one point agenda of the liberation of Kashmir and the grant of the right of self determination to the Kashmiris. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq said that as long as the Pakistan government did not come out of the romance and friendship with India, real pressure on the Kashmir issue could not be build up.

He said that the Pak embassies all over the world should be activated and given a road map for the solution of the Kashmir issue.

Sirajul Haq strongly condemned the massacre of the Kashmris at the hands of Indian troops in Shopian and deplored that the UN and the human rights bodies were doing nothing to stop these killings. He said that the Prime Minister’s Security Gen. (Retd) Nasser Janjua had meetings with the Indian ambassador. He said that the Indian ambassador should have been summoned and a strong protest should have been lodged with him in this regard.

The JI chief expressed full confidence in the leadership of new Hurriat leader Ashraf Sehbaee and said that the Pakistani nation and its political parties also accepted Ashraf Sehbaee as the Hurriat leader. He also paid tributes to Syed Ali Gilani for his valuable services for the liberation of Kashmir.
