Kashmiris pelted stones on Indian troops in IOK

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: The forcible occupation of farmers’ land by Indian troops in Soibugh area of Badgam district in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) prompted the locals to come out of their houses and stage protest against the Indian army’s brutal act, KMS reported.

The troops captured the land and set up an army camp in the area. Annoyed by the Indian army’s move, the locals defied restrictions and lockdown, came out of their houses and pelted stones on the troops.

The troops fired bullets and teargas shells on the protesters.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader, Yousuf Naqash, has expressed concern over the increase in miseries of Kashmiri people due to the continued lockdown for the past several months.

Naqash in a media interview said the people of the territory are facing a shortage of daily commodities and medicine due to the ongoing lockdown, which has been further intensified due to the outbreak of coronavirus. At a time, he added, when people imprisoned for committing serious crimes are being released worldwide in view of t-he COVID-19, India has not released thousands of  Kashmiris, who are languishing in jails across India.
