‘Kesari’ joins the 100-crore club

MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra’s Kesari hit the theatres last Thursday. Within just a week, the film has done phenomenal business at the box-office.

Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi. Akshay plays a Sikh soldier in the film and his avatar has impressed viewers. The audience, as well as the critics, are loving the film. The war historical has now entered the prestigious 100- crore club. The film had earned Rs 21.06 crore on the day of its release, last Thursday.

Then on Friday, it raked in Rs 16.75 crore. While on Saturday and Sunday it collected Rs 18.75 crore and Rs 21.51 crore respectively. The collections kept growing swiftly on weekdays as well, as the film earned Rs 8.25 crore on Monday, Rs 7.17 crore on Tuesday and Rs 6.52 crore on Wednesday making the grand total a majestic Rs 100.01 crore in just a week. Well, we say, take a bow team Kesari!
